Title: Sixteen Again
Characters: Shiranui Genma, Hatake Kakashi

Warnings: Yaoi.
Notes: Yeah, yeah, I know, I've got two other WIPs. I should finish one before I go gallivanting off on another tangent. Tough shit. This one won't let me sleep.
Genma stood in the bathroom, brushing his teeth, and debating whether it was worth it to take his pants off. He had some suspicions about how his night would go, and was engaged in an argument with himself over whether the look on Kakashi's face would be worth the trouble of having to put his pants back on before he could leave the house. In the end, he decided against it. It was better to follow quickly — it left more time for other things, later.
He and Kakashi were the best kept secret in Konoha. Honestly, he'd been blowing the man for close to ten years, and only Rai and Iruka knew. …Iruka… He cursed himself for having started that mess. It had been a goddamn disaster, and he blamed himself more that either of the other parties involved. He liked to think that he was less reckless, now, but he knew that wasn't really true either. If he was less reckless, he wouldn't be planning to run out on Yuugao, tonight, in order to follow the Copy-Nin across the rooftops. Sure, the kunoichi was beautiful, sure, she'd lived with him since Hayate had died… But she wasn't Him. Even Hayate, who he'd loved with the better part of his heart, hadn't ever given Kakashi any proper competition.
Kakashi was incredible, even after all these years. He was an amazing lover, a terrible excuse for a boyfriend, and worth every drop of pain, heartbreak, and blood on the walls that it took to keep his interest. The last time they'd had sex — proper fucking — was more than eight years in the past. On nights he was lucky, Genma would look up from his book to see Kakashi tapping on the living room window. After a brief series of shrugs and gestures, Kakashi would bound off into the night, and Genma, cursing under his breath, would grab his shoes and follow. Wherever they landed, Genma would put on his most innocent expression and drop to his knees. Usually, it was over quickly — Kakashi would be critically tired or would have somewhere else to be, and Genma could do things with his tongue that would make even Anko's eyes drop right out of her pretty little face. And Kakashi would thank him, tell Genma he loved him, and after a quick kiss goodnight, would bound off into the night. And Genma would bite his lips to keep from screaming in frustration as he sprinted home, painfully hard and desperate for relief. He would, as he always did, rush to the bedroom, intent upon taking out his frustrations on the lover who slept there, but upon opening the door, he would be struck by the smell of that person, and would stumble back to the living room in revulsion. He could never face the reality of touching someone else after tasting Kakashi. And so Genma would lie on the couch, with the hand that still smelled of Kakashi pressed against his face, and thrust into his palm until he had wrung the desperation from his flesh. It was never a matter of sating the need, because the need would never be sated — sometimes it just burned less than others.
He set the toothbrush back in the cabinet and struggled back up from his memories. Tonight, it would happen again, just like it always did. There was something in the air.
He walked out to the living room and sat down with a novel — some mystery novel that Rai had lent him — and waited. One hour slid into the next, and he started to wonder if he might have been mistaken. The apartment was warm — too warm, really — and the heat was beginning to take its toll on his senses. As he fought against the exhaustion that beat against him like a cudgel, he heard the tap on the window, and looked up to meet Kakashi's sparkling blue eye. Kakashi managed a modicum of concern with the sixth of his face that was exposed, and Genma waved it off as he stood up and shook off the desire to sleep. The standard series of shoulder rolls and hand signals followed:
Are you sure you're up for this?
No, but I'll do it anyway. Come on, show some sense.
If you were on your way to bed —
I wouldn't be in the living room.
If you're sure… I have something in mind.
The signal was different. He had something interesting in mind. Genma sure as hell wasn't going to argue with that. He leapt up and followed Kakashi across the rooftops, with a growing sense of recognition. This wouldn't happen in the forest or some alley, this time. They were headed for Kakashi's apartment. He felt a thin smile creep across his face and quickly returned his face to the blank mask he favoured. No emotion. Not yet.
Sure enough, they settled in front of Kakashi's door. Quiet. Kakashi signed. He's sleeping. Genma nodded. Kakashi's roommate worked mornings, and it would be exceptionally bad form to wake him. He followed as quietly as he could across the squeaky wood floor.
"Your floor…" he hissed in exasperation, closing the bedroom door behind them.
Kakashi merely smiled and nodded.
"Fine, I suppose I can see the advantage," Genma grumbled, reaching out to fondle Kakashi's ass as he bent over to turn on some music.
Kakashi blinked in surprise, and a lecherous smile curled across his face as he peeled down his mask. "Well…"
"You're wearing too much," Genma sniped, the fire behind his eyes threatening to burn them from their sockets.
"Hm." Kakashi replied, contemplatively, as he stripped off his shirt, slowly, and sat down on the futon. "Let me think if I have any reason I'm going to need my shoes, later."
Genma glared in stunned indignation.
"N— Well… I… Hm." He let Genma simmer for a moment. "No, I don't think so."
The shoes vanished into the mounds of miscellany that surrounded the futon, and Genma, still fully dressed, kneeled across Kakashi's lap. For once, he didn't play innocent. This time, he was ravenous, and he had no time for playacting. Slipping the ever-present senbon into one of his weapons pouches, Genma looked smugly into Kakashi's eyes as he fiddled with the other ninja's belt.
"Hah. I do remember how that works. Even without looking." Genma smirked at Kakashi, who seemed to be struggling to keep the surprise and amusement off his face, and then kissed him, forcing his taller companion to lay back.
Kakashi moved nothing but his lips and tongue, which must have taken some effort, since Genma had allowed his hands to precede him down Kakashi's body. His left hand paused in its travels to attend to Kakashi's nipple, and Genma smiled into the kiss at the stifled moans the attentions elicited.
