The stained glass of my soul has lain upon
The winter white, so cold beneath my feet
Oblivious, the storm continues on
The shattered glass is darkened where it meets
What gust of misery is this I bring,
That shakes my stolid essence from the frame?
Eyes to the ground, I sight a ravelled string
The crowning curse to place atop my shame
The string had once my rosary contained
I'd danced, and seen it wrapped about his heart
Caught in the storm, it snapped and cracked the pane
We faltered, heart and soul both blown apart
I took his hand, "we'll seek our dreams," I said
But, henceforth, I am careful where I tread
